Prototype Construction at Tuas

2nd July 2010

yawns, back at Tuas now..

today, we're focusing on sealing all the tank connectors to the three drums (anaerobic, aerobic and scrubber). meanwhile, we've also came up with a simplified stirrer idea.

Tank connectors
Tank connectors purchased from LNK Trading previously is used instead of the previous valve rings obtained from Ensure. from left to right, 2", 1", 3/4".. tank connectors are used instead of valve rings. as it have protruding parts on both ends, it means that the tanks will never be fully empty (a safety device?)

Scrubber top.. three holes are: gas inlet (1"), gas outlet (1"), water inlet (1").. on the bottom of the drum is water outlet.. we've sealed the 1" tank connectors using PVC gel.

Photobucket
Aerobic top.. the three holes are: loading from Anaerobic stage (2"), vent (3/4" with threading on top), hand pump for oxygen (3/4" without threading)

Photobucket

Anaerobic top.. starting from the loading port (2"), gas outlet (1"), pressure gauge (3/4" threading), vent (3/4"), heater (1/2" without tank connector)

Stirrer Idea.. inserting a bearing into the tank connector then insert a rod into that.. we'll then add props at the other end of the rod to form a propeller type stirrer.. Marcus's idea

Photobucket

Stirrer Idea (prototype)... on the top right hand side, you can see the rod sticking out.. then you can see the bearing at the top.. it's all connected to the 3/4" valve ring but cant fit properly as the bearing is too big..

well.. so we've sealed everything but aint proud of my sealing work there.. at least Marcus have settled the stirrer idea.. and where's Kian How?? still stuck in class.. LOL...

adios amigo~~~ =)
